• Work has commenced on a new distribution hub for PalletFORCE on Centrum West.  The 360,000 sq ft unit is expected to be fully operational by the end of the year

• The first office units of the Granary Wharf development, at the junction of Wharf Road and Wetmore Road are now completed and occupied, while construction work continues on the remaining units. • The Waterstone’s 150,000 sq ft distribution centre on Centrum 100 is expected to be operational soon. Unipart Consumer Logistics will be managing the distribution operation on behalf of Waterstones.

• Plans to build the JCB £20m engineering and manufacturing academy has been approved by the council. The company will now have to wait to see if the scheme will be called in for a public enquiry by the Government’s Department of Communities and Local Government, who will make the final decision whether the scheme is approved or amended.
  
  
• Work has recently started on fitting out the Dovefield Business centre in Uttoxeter.  Staffordshire County Council and Advantage West Midlands are funding the centre. The development will provide 20 small office suites and is scheduled to open in the summer.
